LI: I can explain the water cycle

Volcanos and earthquakes are extreme natural disasters.

By looking at plate tectonics, we know that they only happen in some parts of the world.

So are all areas that are not on a plate boundary free from natural disasters?

No!

There are other natural disasters that occur which are not due to the tectonic plates.

One of those is flooding.

To understand how flooding is caused, we must first be able to explain the water cycle.

Click on the link below and watch the video to introduce you to the water cycle.

Read through this document to learn more about each stage.

Your task: draw a diagram of the water cycle. Your diagram must include the following features and labels:

Features to include

Labels to write on

clouds

evaporation

the sea

condensation

a river

precipitation

Streams

the sun

mountains/high ground

Send over your labelled diagrams of the water cycle on Dojo.
