LI: I can answer a question regarding controversy around belief and religion

Today is our final RE lesson. We are going to answer the question:

How and why does religion bring peace and conflict?

Over the past lessons, we have considered this question by:

• Learning what the ‘golden rule’ and what a ‘just war’ are (last Wednesday)
• Learning about justifications for peace and war in Christianity, Hinduism and Judaism (last Thursday)
• Exploring places were religions can peacefully work together (last Friday)
• Considering just reasons for war (Monday)

Take time now to think about these questions. If you have a family member around, maybe discuss them with them and debate together.

It’s time to answer the big question: How and why does religion bring peace and conflict?

I suggest that you structure your answer in the following way:
