Census Day 2021
On 19th March, all the pupils of All Saints' learnt about the 2021 census. Linking to their maths and history learning, they explored what the census is, how the data is collected and how statisticians use the data to plan our towns and cities.
Years R, 1 and 2 created class tally charts after collecting their own class data.
Year 3 used the census to find out what life was like 100 years ago, during the reign on King George V. They then created posters to show future generations what their life is like now and put these into a time capsule, buried in the school grounds!
Years 4, 5 and 6 calculated with some of the large numbers from the census and then discussed what questions they think would be important to include in the census. Finally, they used the data to plan their own towns, considering the needs of those living within it.
