On Wednesday this week Year 1 went to Wyvernwood. When we arrived, we were greeted by two silly goblins! We made our way through the enchanted gateway into the magical forest. There, we listened to the story of the magic compass, which then leaf on to our search for gems, exploring the fairy garden, and making a potion, and then met with The Captain and Princess Arabella. All the children got fully involved in the immersive experience, and Mrs Pryke got made the Queen by The Captain!! We all had an incredible day!
On Thursday 6th March Year 3 had a very exciting trip to Colchester Castle. First, we went down lots of old stone steps underneath the castle, where a guide showed us some pictures and Roman artefacts about the Roman army and the Celts. After looking at the museum, we had our lunch.
After lunch, we went to the top of the castle and watched a video about the Romans in Colchester. We then got into groups and built a Roman villa and roundhouse. Just to let you know, we had a really fun time!
Year 6 visited Duxford - Imperial War Museum. The children had a guided tour and were able to see the real artefacts that they had been learning about in their history lessons on WWII, including Hurricane, Spitfire and Messerschmitt fighter planes. The children explored the Operational Control Rooms, went inside an Anderson shelter and were able to try on the RAF uniforms. A really wonderful experience!
